
The Supreme Allied Command Transformation is one of the two strategic headquarters under the NATO Command Structure and is the sole Command in North America. At the strategic level, ACT is responsible for contributing to preserving the peace, security, and territorial integrity of 28 Alliance member countries by leading strategic command level transformation of NATO military structures, forces, capabilities and doctrine in order to improve the military effectiveness of the Alliance. Specifically, Chief Johnson oversees a core group of Senior Enlisted Advisors from the NATO nations in collaborative support of the development, training, and education of NATO and Partner for Peace leaders in partnership with the Allied Command Operations CSEL, who resides in Mons, Belgium.
Chief Johnson entered the United States Air Force on October 25, 1984 and is a native of Hampton Virginia. His primary specialties have been as an intelligence superintendent, first sergeant, and command chief. he has had an extensive and diverse range of assignments at the squadron, group, wing, numbered air force, agency, center, joint, combatant command, Headquarters, Air Staff and Headquarters, Secretariat levels. His previous assignment locations include San Vito Dei Normanni, Italy; Fort Meade, Maryland; Misawa AB, Japan (2); Fort Gordon, Georgia; Langley AFB, Virginia; Incirlik AB, Turkey; Offutt AFB, Nebraska; Pentagon, Washington (2); Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan; Ramstein AB, Germany; Barksdale AFB, Louisiana; and Kelly Barracks, Stuttgart Germany. He has extensive training, education and experience in building partnership capacity around the world and has had operational engagements in more than 50 countries worldwide, of which 31 countries were across the continent of Africa.
Command Chief Johnson has completed every level of U.S. Air Force enlisted Professional Military Education and has earned a Master’s Degree of Science, Security Management, Bachelors Degree of Science, Global Business Management, Associate’s Degree of Applied Science, Communications Application Technology, and Associate’s Degree of Applied Science, Human Resource Management and Personnel Management. Additionally, he is a Senior Fellow for Keystone at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
His decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal and Joint Service Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters.[/text_block]
